New Study on 135 Degree Sitting Posture Leaves Out Important Facts

Minneapolis, MN (PRWeb) December 7, 2006 -- Scottish and Canadian researchers revealed sitting in a 135 degree thigh to torso sitting angle is best for spinal discs and recommend that as the best sitting position for office workers. What they failed to mention is that position is best for lower back discs but will ultimately cause tremendous strain on neck and upper back discs. It will take stress off lower back but very much at the expense of the neck & upper back.

A 135 degree sitting angle is exactly half way between sitting up straight and lying flat on your back - not very practical for the average office setting.

Janice Novak, author of the highly acclaimed book, Posture, Get It Straight!, can simply explain to your audience/readers:

Why this sitting position is inherently fraught with problems
How and why sitting in 135 degree angle may very well cause an epidemic of neck, upper back and shoulder problems.

More practical solutions to preventing/eliminating common back/neck/shoulder problems for office workers.
